In the times of burgeoning stress levels and increasing workload, a spa is no longer an accessory but a necessity everyone should have. A refreshing dip in spa has a magical revitalizing effect on our mind and body and is perfect to unwind after a long tiring day.

Spa Maintenance Simplified
Spa maintenance more often than not intimidates the prospective customers, but it can be nothing more than a cake walk if the following steps are followed:

  • It is important to have thorough information about spa filters prior to choosing one of them. There are three types of spa filters namely DE filter, sand filter, and cartridge filters – among these, cartridge filters are a common choice as they are easy to install use and maintain. L A Spa filters are a preferable option if you are about to buy a pool filter cartridge. It is necessary to ensure that the cartridge in your filter has evenly spaced bands. Such bands prevent pleat flutter which is caused by turbulence inside the canister. These bands are usually made up of spun-bound polyester.
  • To ensure the longevity of your cartridge, it is important to keep it clean. One should backwash the cartridge once in every 14 days and deep-clean it once in every 2-3 months.
  • The cartridge can be manually cleaned by soaking it in a mixture of water and non-foaming filter cleaning solution overnight and then scrubbing it gently with a brush next morning. Such solutions are easily available on online stores. It should be duly noted that washing detergents are not at all suitable to be used for cleaning filter cartridges.
  • In order to be backwashed, the cartridge should be rinsed with a garden hose but too much pressure should not be applied while backwashing as it will push the dirt deeper into the cartridge causing it to get permanently settled in it.  Follow these steps before cleaning spa filter cartridge.
