Pool and spa owners that live in areas of “hard” groundwater or use well water have an array of issues to contend with, such as murky or cloudy water, odor, and calcium deposits that line the sides and bottom of the pool. These issues make pool and spa water a little harder to work with, and require more chemicals to balance out the deposits in the water.
While the idea of filling your pool or spa with “soft” water sounds fantastic, it isn’t as easy as it may seem. And using water that is too “soft” could cause problems too. In fact, you need to have the right balance between “hard” and “soft” water to have a healthy, sparkling pool or spa.
This is where Baleen Pool Filters comes in. Baleen offers a handy, innovative gadget a pre-filter that lets you filter the water BEFORE you fill your pool or spa. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Now you can swim or soak in bottle-quality water with minimal effort!
Before we go into the benefits of the Baleen Perfect Pool or Spa Pre-Filter, let’s take a look at the downsides of using hard or soft water in your pool or spa.
If the Water is too Hard:
Hard water has a high mineral content, especially magnesium and calcium. Water that has high traces of these minerals can leave a coating of gray, white or brown deposits on the surfaces in your pool or spa.
When water is too hard, it is necessary to add additional chemicals, called chelating agents, to the water to make the calcium inactive and therefore “soften” the water. Chelating agents react with the metal ions in the water and make them soluble, preventing the deposits from forming.
If the Water is too Soft:
Soft water has a low mineral content of magnesium and calcium. Unfortunately, this causes the water to attempt to balance itself, and it does so by leeching minerals from whatever surface it is touching especially the plaster. It will also erode ladders, fixtures, and so on. So while swimming or soaking in a soft water pool or spa sounds fantastic, doing so can cause some very, very expensive repairs!
OK, so what is the right solution?
Check out the Baleen Turbo Ion Exchange Pre-Filter for pools and spas!
As the name implies, this product “pre-filters” your water, making it much easier to balance. It filters out the increased mineral content of hard water, preventing deposits in your pool or spa. The water is softer (but not too soft!) and will help save you time and money by not requiring excessive chemicals for the right balance.
The results are immediate and clearly visible after just one use. The pre-filter protects your pool or spa from gray, green, brown or other unsightly stains caused by chemical reactions with copper and iron found in hard water. The pre-filter eliminates metals from the water before it goes into the pool or spa, and also prevents limescale. You will have high-quality, pre-softened water that provides a wonderful experience and protects your pool or spa from damage.
